Today the Five Minute Friday word is “Forget.” **Make sure to click on the image above to find the linkup to other great blog posts too.** Here’s my five-minute free write:
It is so easy for me to forget God’s teachings to me – places where the Spirit spoke to my heart, promises He gave me at specific times, etc. How I cling to them in the hard times and then often, when the good times come again, I quickly forget. How I wish this wasn’t so!
And yet, while I may remain faithless, God is ever faithful to me. I am reminded of the verse in Isaiah 49:15-16 where it says,
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;”
How comforting to know that in the midst of my own forgetfulness, God does not leave me alone and has even gone as far as to have “engraved [me] on the palms of [his] hands.” Thank you, God for this reminder today and may it seek to give myself and others a bit more grace in this area.
